It was Christmas 2013 and I was holidaying with family. My mum took a photo of me slumped in a deckchair and waved in front of my face. I said to her what are you doing and she was like, “this is what you look like”.
I was so mad but then after a while I thought actually….. it’s only your Mum who can tell you that. Your friends never would!
Talk about a light bulb moment!
I got back from holidays and called Keri the first week back to work. I went in to meet her and have never looked back. I had been struggling for years with back problems, my knees hurt, sore feet when I walked for more than 30 minutes and hadn’t owned a pair of scales in probably a good 5 years. When I hopped on the scales for the first time with Keri I actually couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I remember feeling my eyes tear up and I just pulled myself in and thought that is it. That is obese! You have to change!
So Keri got me on track with my food diary and changing my eating habits. I committed to 2 sessions a week with her and have never looked back. I really look forward to the sessions and the weight just kept coming off. It hasn’t been a diet. I have definitely had a life style change but it has been a hell of a journey, not a struggle. My cravings are different and my weekends look a lot brighter with a good mix of exercise thrown in. I don’t really think about it. I just DO IT!
Thanks Keri, you have truly changed my life – 27kg down but I still have a wee way to go so look forward to what this year brings us 🙂
